Thymosin Alpha-1 is a 28-amino-acid peptide originally identified in the thymus gland, which is located behind the sternum. 

In controlled research settings, the synthetic Thymosin Alpha 1 peptide has been studied for its potential role in immune-related cellular processes.

Researchers suggested that Thymosin Alpha-1 may be associated with the regulation of certain immune system functions, as observed in in vitro studies.

How does Thymosin Alpha 1 work?

Researchers believe that Thymosin Alpha 1 has been studied in preclinical and in vitro models for its interaction with T-cell and NK cell–associated pathways. A few studies have indicated that Thymosin Alpha 1 may also raise the levels of cytokines like IL-2 and IFN-γ in experimental models.

Research observations suggest that Thymosin Alpha-1 may influence mechanisms involved in maintaining normal immune system components. It may also be involved in the clearance of damaged or dysfunctional elements in controlled experimental models.
